About the Artist

From her website

I am lucky enough to live and work in the beautiful South Hams in Devon.

Originally from the Midlands, I’ve held a lifelong passion for textile creativity. I’m probably best known for my vibrant illustrative work and uplifting semi-abstract coastal pieces.

From an early age, I was constantly inspired by the world around me and felt compelled to create. Dried leaves, garden waste or even a pile of discarded milk bottle tops were potential pieces of art. I firmly believe much of my resourcefulness and creativity stems from those early years.

Along with the influence of growing up in a creative household, I am a self taught artist. I was most honoured to be awarded Best Up And Coming Artist by the Fine Art Guild in 2015 and have gained a wonderful following since this time, including many collectors. My work continues to evolve as I constantly challenge myself to push boundaries and experiment with materials and new techniques. I am absolutely loving the journey and long may it continue.

“Textile art has been part of human life since as early as when civilisation began. For me, it’s such a natural and expressive form of art with limitless possibilities. I love the tactile experience of my work as well as the challenge of telling a new story with rescued fabrics and thread alone.”
