As with all Gibsons jigsaws, we use 100% recycled puzzle board, FSC paper and work with the best artists from all around the world. The beautifully illustrated pieces are designed to fit perfectly together; in fact, we use the thickest puzzle board on the market. Everyone loves a Gibsons jigsaw, even Her Majesty the Queen has been spotted with one.
We’ve made some positive changes to our processes, so you can be sure you’re getting the same great puzzles and know that they are kinder to the environment. Not only do our new boxes have a fresh new look, but we’ve used biodegradable clear labels to secure the lid instead of shrink wrap to reduce our plastic waste. There is a gloss coating on the box for extra protection and the puzzle pieces are stored in a plastic bag that can be recycled by most councils.
About the artist
After leaving Bradford Art College in 1979 with a Diploma in Art and Design, Trevor Mitchell began his career as an art director at a London advertising agency. He returned to his native West Yorkshire a few years later and worked for several design studios and advertising agencies before going freelance in 1986. Commercial illustration work rekindled his love of painting and he was encouraged by finding a market for his work among the publishers of greeting cards and jigsaw puzzles, and art prints of his paintings are now sold worldwide. Trevor’s paintings reflect his enthusiasm for steam and vintage vehicles and his fascination with recreating the past in pictures appears frequently in Gibsons nostalgic puzzle range.

2019 marked 100 years since our founder, Harry Percy Gibson formed H. P. Gibson & Sons Limited. Now into our fourth generation with Harry’s great-granddaughter at the helm, we are proud of our British heritage and are still providing fun family pastimes for all ages 101 years on.
