About the artist

Cake and Crayons brings together a love for illustration with a belief in the importance of celebrating diversity and inclusion. Founded in 2021 by Helen Bea, this bright and fun card company has already reached the finals for the Henries Awards for Diversity and Inclusion! Helen started by making cards for friends and the local community, based on their needs and inspired by her own children, seeking to represent disabilities, family set ups, gender roles and multi-racial families in children’s cards. The business has gone from strength to strength and she is fast building her card ranges across all ages and occasions. Cake and Crayons makes a positive difference by addressing inequality and building connections through cards. This isn’t just about selling cards, it’s about getting a message out – about how we are all wonderfully different and should be celebrated.
